How are you?

Lesson Plan
Flash Cards

For my first lesson for the little kids, I had a full lesson based on "How are you?", which seems to be the English curriculums most basic lesson. Several of the students already knew it, but I thought it would be good practice. Plus, they LOVED the song. :)

Class 1

Introduce "How are you?" and the responses, and play some games. ^_^ Many of the students already knew this stuff, but a couple other didn't so I think it was great practice overall. The students loved the song, and were super energetic during class.

For the game, we did the pointing game in groups, and then we did flyswatter karuta which really got the kids excited.

Class 2

This was basically just more practice for "How are you?" I tried to add some new vocabulary that they didn't already know like cold, hot, and sick, but I couldn't really think of other ones besides that.

We then played the gesture game.

Results

Overall, the students had tons of fun. Those that already knew the content did a great job teaching the other students how to correctly say the words.
