This was the year that I finally bought a Switch. A new model with an extended battery was being released and the next Pokemon was finally coming out.
At the end of the year, I got some e-mails from both Nintendo and Sony showing statistics of all the games I played throughout the year on their platforms. Maybe Nintendo did this last year, but it was definitely new for Sony. :)
Zelda Breath of the Wild, Octopath Traveler, Let's Go Eevee, and Super Mario Maker were games I immediately had to play with my newly purchased Switch. I had already played through Breath of the Wild on Wii U, but I never had the chance to the play the expansions that released later. I played it nearly every day during summer.
I wish it would show a game-by-game break down of how many hours I spent on each, but Zelda was far and above my most played game of the year.
I played through God of War and Bloodstained, but I spent a lot of time with Hitman 2. The chart below only says 11 hours, but that is very wrong, and disproved by the next chart.
If I only played 3 games in the year, and each of those games was 55, 34, and 11 hours, that's only 100 hours. So how did I clock in 145 hours of gameplay? Those additional hours were spent in Hitman 2 and didn't register for whatever reason.
While Zelda was my most played game on console, with Hitman 2 coming a close second, my actual most played game of the year was Pokemon Go. I played that about an hour or two a day, with some weekend sessions going up to 6 hours. I ever traveled to Yohohama for Go Fest this year, too!
