Thanks to the coronavirus, the world has had an unprecedented amount of free time. I play a lot of video games, but this year was absolute king, and we saw some incredible releases: I finally got caught up with Pokemon, Animal Crossing controlled everyone's lives, and Death Stranding, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and Red Dead 2 are all incredible experiences. The world is dead, but games are great.
There were some days while working at home that I would boot up Animal Crossing, and just leave it on all day while making deals with people online for items.
It comes as no surprise that these three are my most played playstation games of the year. Death Stranding is a weird self-indulgent game, but an incredible experience. Final Fantasy VII Remake starts off a bit cookie-cutter, but fully embraces its bizarre often out-of-touch humor. I was surprised how much FFVII clicked with me. Red Dead 2 is quite fantastic, too, but ultimately too much for me to complete.
