Advertising and Ramen

Yesterday, for the first time as SPAMM publicity officer, I actually went around campus and put up flyers about weekly meetings. I've made posters before, but this was the first year of actually doing the advertising.

Here are the SPAMM 2004 Ads I put up around campus: Full Metal Panic, X TV, Great Teacher Onizuka, Lodoss War, Stellvia, and Berserk. I'm in love with the Lodoss War poster. ^_^

After SPAMM, I ate another batch of ramen with my last egg. This was one of my few remanining pro ramens, Mama's Oriental Style Instant Chand Noodles Beef Flavor.

Beef isn't a very common ramen flavor, for some reason. It's usually some kind of "oriental" this or "oriental" that. I wasn't afraid of it being spicy. None of the previous Chand noodle dishes had strong spice at all.

To cook the noodles, first, I boiled the water. When the water came to a boil, I added in the noodles. After they broke apart and started to become soft, I added the seasoning. When adding the egg, this time, I made sure to mix it thoroughly into the contents of the bowl. Seconds after putting the egg into the very hot water, it almost instantly began to cook. Wicked. I continued stirring and cooking for about 30 seconds, and then covered it for a while.

In the end, it tasted pretty good! I think the egg really helps out A LOT! I'm adding an egg to the ramen every single time from now on. I think it adds a lot to the dish. I'm also getting better at cooking ramen too, so that is improving the taste, too. There is definitely a science to cooking instant noodles. Most America noodles have no finesse and no science to the cooking method. These Asian imports take a little more effort, but the results are worth it.

In this case, too, I think I really prefer the beef flavor compared with others. In the end, I'm giving Mama's Beef Flavored Chand Noodles a 2 1/2 out of 5 stars. But, with the egg added into the mix, I think it elevates it to the 3 1/2.

So, today I have learned that eggs equal better ramen. I suggest you try it out next time you make ramen. You won't be disappointed.
