Following inland from the beach where the US army landed on April 1st 1945 is the former Yomitan Airfield where the Japanese army deployed its plane to fight the Americans over the seas. The airfield is completely decommissioned, but remnants of its landscape are still visible.
Nearby is a plaque explaining the area and reminding us of the consequence of war.
