Nara is known for its friendly deer. The deer have been conditioned over years and years by tourists and citizens of Nara that people are a source of food and not to be feared. You can buy a pack of deer senbei and feed any of the deer directly. Although, once they know you have food, they can get aggressive. Also, sometimes they'll bow if you hold off giving them food immediately.
Near the main Nara park is the giant Buddha. I took a few photos of the area and included them below.
