Kiyomizu-dera is one of the most distinct and famous tourist destinations in Kyoto. It is a massive Buddhist temple on the hillside in eastern Kyoto, which overlooks the city. My brother and I went there as one of our final places during our vacation, but most of it was under construction, so we didn't stay too long.
