Before going to Kyoto today, my brother and I planned on visiting the Asahi Brewery in Osaka. Asashi Super Dry is one of the "big 3" beers of Japan, alongside Kirin and Sapporo beers. There are other ubiquitous Japanese beers, but these are the top 3.
Several other groups arrived at the brewery with us, but we were the only English speakers. They found a tour guide who spoke English and we ended up getting a personalized tour. The brewery had a whole wall of classic Asahi cans showing the commercialized history of the beer. We got to see the factory lines and canning process. At the end of the tour, we got to sample some beers, too.
