When I was back in America, I had a brief 8-hour opportunity to explore around Madison, Wisconsin, where I had lived for 6 years. For many of those years, I lived downtown with a group of friends, and nearly every weekend, we would go out to the bars or enjoy some music at a venue. The capitol was always there at the center of town, and we would always walk past it, and sometimes through it.
So, during my brief visit, I played the tourist and took a bunch of pictures. This building does not change, despite the surrounding area having buildings torn down, businesses closed, and more and more homeless and panhandlers on the sidewalks. I haven't been here in nearly 10 years, and it feels like downtown Madison has completely fallen apart.
