Projects & Works
Collected on this page are presentations that I have given at conferences. These presentations were given to a targeted audience with various materials.
Micro-aggressions in Japan
This year, at our second Skills Development Conference in Gifu, I gave a quick talk and presentation about micro-aggressions. I quickly talked about what they are, what's the problem, and how to deal with them.
This was part of a session of "micro-panels" which consisted of 4 shorter talks about various subjects. So, I budgeted this at 10-12 minutes.
The following is the intended transcript I wrote for my talk. I also included most slides from the powerpoint, and the time-stamps from when I timed myself speaking.
Writing Lesson Plans
The following is a talk I gave at the Gifu Work Orientation for new ALTs starting this year in our prefecture.
My presentation was about lesson planning, how I plan for lessons, and execute them. To prepare for this, I wrote out the entire transcript of what I planned to say. I changed a few things to read better, but this is what I was working off of during my talk.
This talk assumes the reader (or listener) has no knowledge of lesson planning, or classroom experience at all.
