Mt. Ontake 御嶽山 in Spring

Mt. Ontake is one of the tallest mountains in Japan. It's on the southern end of the Japanese alps and sits on the border between Gifu and Nagano, on the edge of Takayama. Zach and his friend came to visit, and I brought them here as I drove them eastward through the mountains to a train station bringing them back to Tokyo.

This observation deck is found on the winding mountain roads passed Asahi, Takane, and Hiwada, on the Nagano side of the prefectural border. Below are photos I took of the scene.
